Silver Award Bench

This bench was crafted for my Girl Scout Silver Award by my friend and me. For our project we decided to build a bench for the local dog park. We chose this project because it’s not usually one chosen by many girls, but a common one for Boy Scouts. So why could’t a girl do it as well? It was also the pandemic and people were spending more time outdoors and increasing the need for places to sit and relax. While the process had its ups and downs, the final result of presenting it to the board and then seeing the  physical representation of our hard work, one that is still standing and used to this day, was incredibly fulfilling. The bench itself was created with pressure treated lumber, screws, and finished with a light stain.
