Sugar Rush

This oil pastel drawing depicts a vibrant still life of candies as the subject matter. Resting on top of a background created using chalk pastels, the aerial view of the candies allows for shading and highlights on the sticky candies, creating a sense of depth. This drawing was created during my freshman year of high school to enable us to understand the importance of highlights for realistic drawings.
